Acapulco, the Queen of Mexican beach resorts offers over 300
hotels and boasts some of the world's swankiest resorts. Thanks to its
dazzling discos, bars, clubs and "Las Vegas, Mexican-style" atmosphere,
party-lovers and honeymooners fall in love its tropical beauty and
festive Mexican atmosphere. The area also offers parks, calm beaches, a
new aquarium, and the world's only island zoo.
Resort activities center around three areas. Beginning
south of Acapulco Bay (near the airport) is the Playa Revolcadero area,
home to several first class resorts. Just to the north (between the
airport and Acapulco Bay) is the Puerto Marques area, site of a
multi-million dollar self-contained development that includes resort
hotels, golf courses, condos, and marinas. Finally, there is Acapulco
Bay. This is area is the home to nearly all of Acapulco's high rise
hotels, nightlife, dining, and shopping.
Dining cuisine is diverse. Most restaurants are al-fresco,
and many offer breathtaking views of Acapulco Bay.
Shopping is excellent, either in the resort's several
American-style malls, or at its bustling downtown Mercado's.
Acapulco has something to suit every taste and budget and offers a
range of activities for the whole family. The main attraction of the bay
are its more than twenty beaches, each with a distinct atmosphere, where
you can choose your favorite water sport. Enthusiasts will find ample
opportunities for sports fishing, diving, water skiing and snorkeling.
There are also several ecological areas that are ideal for picnics and
horse riding, as well as golf courses and tennis courts. |
