The Riviera Maya located along the Caribbean Coast of Mexico and comprises the popular tourist destinations of Akumal, Kantenah Bay, Playa del Carmen and Tulum.
   Akumal, meanings "Place of the Turtles" in Mayan, is one of the southern most resorts on the Mayan Riviera. A beach town it is located just north of Tulum and is only 65 miles of good road from Cancun. As one of the older areas on the coast it is famous for its tranquility and as the place where thousands of endangered sea turtles come here to lay their eggs from May to October.

   Playa Del Carmen, known simply as "Playa" is much less cosmopolitan than the international Cancun and is a favorite for many travelers since it. Located 40 miles south of Cancún in the heart of what is now called the Mayan Riviera. Playa is a perfect base from which to explore the myriad of attractions in the 'Riveria' such as Maya Ruins of Xel Ha, Tulum Cobá and Muyil.
