El Tamarindo Beach & Golf Resort
is a tropical rainforest retreat set on a beautiful beachfront on
Mexico’s Pacific Alegre Coast. Authentic thatched ‘palapa’ villas sit
within 2,000 acres of forest at Tamarindo Bay, a 15-kilometre stretch of
stunning cliffs and coves. Nestled alongside the forest, ravines and
beaches, is the spectacular El Tamarindo 18 hole championship golf
course.
Located just 40 minutes from Manzanillo’s International Airport and
a three-hour scenic drive south from Puerto Vallarta International
Airport, The Tamarindo lies on Mexico’s beautiful southern coast. Nearby
attractions include the port of Manzanillo, the picturesque colonial
city of Colima which lies on the slopes of the volcano ‘Nevado de
Colima’ and the village of Comala, a popular weekend spot featuring
traditional Mexican taverns. In the adjacent bay to Tamarindo lies the
Barra de Navidad fishing village, dating back to the 16th century. It
was from here that the Spanish set sail on their voyages of discovery to
the East and where, each January, the international Sail Fish and Marlin
fishing tournament takes place. North of the resort are the stunning
beaches of Tenacatita, Teopa and Perula, Costa Careyes and Puerto
Vallarta.
The Tamarindo’s 29 thatched ‘palapa’ villas blend harmoniously with the
resort’s lush tropical gardens. Local hardwoods and palm tree columns
are featured in the outdoor structures while the interior design has a
rustic feel. The spacious rooms and oversized bathrooms offer every
comfort.
The Beach Front Villas are set at the foot of towering palm trees and
overlook the sea. All have spacious bedrooms and oversized bathrooms,
large covered terraces with living and dining areas, small pools and
private gardens leading directly on to the beach.
The Palm Tree Villas, set behind the Beach Front Villas, enjoy partial
views of the sea. Similar in design to the beach front bungalows, all
have their own private plunge pool. Two of the bungalows have
two-bedrooms with their own private bathrooms.
The Garden Villas, located to the north of the property, each consist of
one bedroom and sitting room, a spacious bathroom and an extended
outdoor covered terrace with a small pool and whirlpool.
The Forest Villas, set back in the hills, include one bedroom and living
room, a spacious bathroom and an outdoor terrace with a small pool.
Hoyo 9 - Located at the midway point of the spectacular El Tamarindo
Beach and Golf Resort golf course is Hole 9, a unique eatery perched
high on a hill overlooking the greens and waters below. If you are
enjoying a round of golf, the restaurant is an ideal place to refuel for
the remainder of the course, and for guests who are not golfing, the
restaurant is a great place to enjoy a unique afternoon meal. Bar
service available. La Higuera
La Higuera - Features world-class dining in an unparalleled
oceanfront setting. Set amidst the beauty and natural beauty of Costa
Careyes, the restaurant offers a 180-degree ocean view from under a
canopy of the trees. Bar service available.
