   The Gran Bahia Principe, which is formed by two five-star hotels, the Bahia Principe Tulum and the Bahia Principe Akumal, is located in the middle of the new developing area called the Riviera Maya, an un-crowded place in the Yucatan Peninsula, surrounded by exotic and natural beaches, Mayan ruins and many fun and interesting places to visit. We are located approximately 60 minutes from Cancun International Airport, 35 minutes south of Playa del Carmen and 20 minutes north of Tulum.
   Designed by the prestigious Mexican architect, Fernando Quirarte, and inspired by the Puuc Mayan architectural period, the Bahia Principe Resort welcomes its guests with all of Mexican's characteristic warmth. Materials such as stone, talavera pottery, marble, large palapas, hardwoods and an exquisite color combination make the hotel a cool and harmonious place that is easy to discover and enjoy.
   The project was carried out following patterns of sustained tourism in order to make the best use of all the area's resources. The kilometer-long beach is completely natural, and large, manicured gardens will make your strolls around the complex all the more enjoyable. Modern energy-saving and water-processing systems, among others, illustrate the hotel's concern for the environment.
   The Bahia Principe Resort offers a total of 1,259 guestrooms which are distributed in three-story villas housing 18 rooms each. The Bahia Principe Tulum section offers 774 rooms including 36 Junior Suites and the Bahia Principe Akumal section offers 485 rooms including 413 Junior Suites and 72 standard rooms. Standard room amenities include fully-fitted marble bathrooms with a bathtub and shower, hairdryer, air conditioning, direct dial telephone, color TV with remote control, mini-bar and balcony or terrace.
   The Bahia Principe Resort features several swimming pools including one with three Jacuzzis, a lake-form pool with children’s section and a natural saltwater pool on the beach. Large sun terraces and gardens with sun beds and sunshades are available for you to relax. Additional hotel amenities include a variety of restaurants and bars, a spa offering a variety of beauty and body treatments, land sports including bicycles, tennis, badminton, football, basketball and volleyball, water sports activities including kayaks, windsurfing, catamarans, scuba diving and snorkeling plus professional shows and entertainment hosted by our recreation staff.

Rooms

The Bahia Principe features 810 rooms distributed in three-story buildings of 18 rooms arranged in a horseshoe shape all facing the sea. Standard rooms feature two single beds or one king-size bed, air conditioning, direct-dial telephone, color TV, marble bath with tub and shower and hairdryer, mini-bar plus balcony or terrace. In-room safe deposit box available for rent.

La Gran Tortuga - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, Daily 7 AM to 10:30 PM - Mediterranean Cuisine
Features Mediterranean breakfast and lunch buffets and a la carte service at dinner. Four dinner seating's nightly. Reservations and proper dress required. Daily breakfast served 7 to 10 AM, lunch from 12:30 to 3:30 PM and dinner from 6:30 to 10:30 PM.

La Hacienda - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, Daily 9 AM to 11 PM - International Cuisine
La Hacienda is located in Hacienda Doña Isabel and features coffee service from 9 AM to 4 PM, buffet lunch from noon to 4 PM and delicious international cuisine served in elegant environment from 6:30 to 11:00 PM. Reservations required.
Las Olas - Continental Breakfast & Snacks, Daily 7 AM to 10:00 PM - Casual Fare
Situated directly on the beach, Las Olas serves continental breakfast daily from 7 to 10 AM and snacks including hamburgers, hot dogs, salads and much more until 10 PM.
