   The Sandos Playacar Resort is a deluxe five-star resort ideally located on the glorious “Mayan Riviera,” and is on a wide sandy beach that faces Cozumel island and a 45-minute drive of the Cancun international airport.
   The Sandos Gala Playacar creates the atmosphere of a Mexican village surrounded by beautiful tropical foliage. It is the ideal choice for groups or family vacations. It offers a quiet, intimate atmosphere, comfortable Junior Suites, swimming pools and sun terraces. Each 10-unit building has its own solarium and private pool.
   Sandos Gala Playacar includes all of the features and amenities to please even the most discriminating traveler. There are four swimming pools (one for adults only), four restaurants including three that feature a la carte dining, four bars plus a discotheque, an indoor theater, meeting and banquet facilities, a Galaxy Kid’s Club and Teens Club, Arcade& Soda Bar for those who are no longer children, four tennis courts, a fitness center and spa, a beauty and barber shop, a boutique, an in-house travel agency plus a car rental agency.

Rooms

The Sandos Gala Playacar has 460 deluxe guestrooms and Junior Suites. All have private balconies. Each is handsomely decorated and include private and spacious all marble bathrooms including marble bench for added comfort and hairdryer, air conditioning, satellite color TV, telephone, mini-bar with mineral water, soft drinks and beer plus in-room safety deposit box. Nightly maid service plus a change of towels is also included.


Standard Guestrooms feature private deluxe spacious all marble bath with hairdryer, satellite color TV, telephone, stocked mini-bar, safety box and balcony.


Junior Suites are distributed in 16 buildings of 10 units each. Every building features its own solarium and private pool and creates a Mexican village atmosphere surrounded by native forest of exuberant vegetation. In addition to standard amenities, our spacious Junior Suites feature additional living area with double sofa bed.


1-BR Suites In addition to standard amenities, feature include living/dining room area with double sofa and entertainment center including DVD and play station plus additional guest bathroom.


Gala Royal Club rooms feature VIP treatment including private registration, concierge services, preferred dinner reservations, late check out, turn-down service plus reserved area at the pool and beach. Gala Royal Club rooms are located in a designated section and guests receive welcome fruit basket plus bath robe and deluxe personal toiletries.

Italian specialty restaurant featuring a la carte service. Reservations required. Reservations can be made one day in advance in person at the public relations desk. Closed Tuesdays.


Grand Festival - Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner, Daily 7 AM to 10 PM - International Cuisine
Our main restaurant featuring breakfast, lunch and dinner buffets. Breakfast served from 7 to 11 AM, lunch from 1 to 4 PM and dinner from 7 to 10 PM. Shirt and shoes required.


Los Alcatraces - Dinner, Daily 6 PM to 10:30 PM - Mexican Cuisine
Mexican specialty restaurant featuring a la carte service. Reservations required. Reservations can be made one day in advance in person at the public relations desk. Closed Saturdays.


Mediterranean Restaurant - Dinner, Tuesdays and Saturdays 7 to 10 PM - Seafood, Meats & Chicken
Specialty restaurant featuring a la carte service. Reservations required. Reservations can be made one day in advance in person at the public relations desk. Open Tuesdays and Saturdays only.


Ola La Buffet Snacks, Daily 7:30 AM to 5 PM - Casual Fare pool snack bar serving buffet snacks. Breakfast served 7:30 to 10 AM and lunch from noon to 5 PM:

Please note proper attire is required. Children under 6 years of age are not permitted in the restaurants after 7 pm. Alternate dinner arrangements can be made through the Kid's Club.

Nightclubs:
