Sun and Moon Are Wrong: Traveling Through Time from Under One Person

Chapter 193: Fight for Eternity

Chapter 193: Fight for Eternity

Chen Jindao's status as a veteran gave us many conveniences. Not only was the fare on Dongfeng No. 19 free, but as soon as we got off the train, a conductor floating in the air saluted him and arranged a nice room for our family.

This was the first time I saw a Dharma seeker, and he looked no different from everyone else.

In my usual imagination, those who seek the Dharma should be high above, with white robes fluttering in the wind, able to destroy the heavens and the earth.

In short, they never salute anyone, and they stand beside the train to help the elderly with their luggage. When they have nothing to do, they also clean the platform and take out the garbage in the trash cans.

Out of curiosity, I chatted with the conductor.

During the conversation, she said that those who seek the Dharma are actually no different from ordinary people, as they all need to eat, live, study and work.

And she is not a train attendant, she is a student of the Wanfashu Academy, and the reason she is a volunteer here is to earn points.

Points can only be earned by being a volunteer. With the points, she can exchange them for good things in the Wanfashu Academy and purchase the qualification to attend public courses for great masters.

Seeing that I was very interested in the affairs of Dharma seekers, she said that she could conduct free qualification tests for Dharma seekers at the station later.

I asked her one last question, why should we salute Chen Jindao.

I am very curious, is the status of a veteran really that powerful?

It was so amazing that the transportation to Baiyao City was free, the accommodation was free, and even my father's surgery was moved up a lot, from a year and a half later to just three months later.

I have read many novels in the market of my hometown, and now I strongly suspect that Chen Jindao is a hidden and powerful Dharma seeker.

However, the reply I got was that Chen Jindao was just an ordinary person and definitely not a seeker of Dharma.

The reason we salute Chen Jindao is because he has made many outstanding contributions to Dayan in the past.

She detected that Chen Jindao had participated in hundreds of battles, big and small, as an ordinary person, including the Great Patriotic War, the War of Liberation, the War of Annihilation, the South Asian Liberation War, the Middle East Liberation War, the African Liberation War, the European Liberation War, and so on.

She said that Chen Jindao standing next to us could be said to be a walking wall of merit, the living war itself.

His past experiences and outstanding contributions to Dayan deserve him to be respected by all living Dayan people.

It is people like Chen Jindao who decide the outcome of the war. Only then can Dayan achieve the peace it has today and gain the final victory among many wars.

It turns out that Mr. Chen Jindao is such a powerful person.

But I don’t quite understand what the volunteer sister said. Since those who seek the Dharma can destroy the world, why is it an ordinary person like Grandpa Chen Jindao who decides the outcome of the war?

The young lady said that this was very complicated to explain and involved advanced academic content for those seeking the Dharma. She didn't expect that a little kid like me could seize the blind spot and ask such a question.

But considering that I was studious, she was still willing to explain it to me.

She asked me if I believed that there was a consciousness, a huge consciousness, in the world we live in today.

This consciousness is formed by the consciousness of each of us and is the sum of the consciousness of countless living beings.

It is this consciousness that determines the appearance and direction of the world.

Although those who seek the Dharma are powerful and have strong consciousness, this is only true when compared to ordinary people. However, compared to the combined consciousness of countless people, it is far from worth mentioning.

So the outcome of the war appears to be determined by the Dharma seekers who shine on the battlefield, but this is not actually the case.

What really determines the outcome of a war are the countless people on both sides affected by the war. Whichever side the people want to win will win.

I said I didn't quite understand, I came from far away and I had never been to school.

She then gave me another example.

If the world is an ocean, then countless living beings are the drops of water that make up the ocean.

Those who seek the Dharma are larger water droplets, and the largest is no more than a lake.

No matter how big a lake is, it cannot be bigger than the sea and can only be swept away by the sea.

I seem to understand a little bit. The young lady is telling me that the people are the masters who decide the direction of the world, and the people's consciousness is the consciousness of the world.

My parents were right. I kind of want to study.

I turned around and asked Chen Jindao why you, who is so capable, would stay in our remote and backward mountain village.

Chen Jindao told me that he had won many battles and liberated many places.

But the liberated places will soon return to their original state.

At that time he understood that the war would one day be forgotten, and even the country would one day decay, but only culture and spirit could be passed down forever.

Instead of spending their twilight years in their homeland, these veterans should go out and spread the spiritual culture of Dayan, teach them by example, and let them change from the root.

He said that not only himself, but many people were doing the same thing as him.

They are not fighting for a moment, but for eternity.

My father's surgery is in March, so I have three months to explore the city.

What the traveling doctor said was right. Baiyao City really does treat every poor person for free. It is a true city of miracles in every sense of the word.

Another good news is that I underwent the qualification test for a Dharma seeker. This is one of the few unforgettable moments in my life.

The moment I stood on the inspection machine, the voice of Tianjie Jiajia came from all directions and echoed throughout the station.

At that moment, I saw that everyone's eyes were focused on me, and their faces were all filled with surprise.

The young lady who was a volunteer had a mouth so big that it seemed like she could fit 10 potatoes at the same time. Her eyes were trembling, and she seemed a little unbelievable.

I asked her what the Heaven Grade A meant, was it that great, and why were all the people looking at me.

She pointed at me with a trembling hand and said, Grade A means that I have opened more than ten magic points at this age, and Grade Heaven means that I have most likely awakened my innate magical power.

There are only a few records in history of seekers who awakened their innate supernatural powers at this age.

Genius, this is the compliment people give me. Perhaps from this moment on, my life will take off.

Thanks to my talent, all expenses in Baiyao City were exempted, and I was even admitted to the lower academy of Wanfashu Academy without taking an entrance exam.

Three days later, I met you, father, and Uncle Yan for the first time at the opening ceremony of the Lower House.

That day, you were on the high platform and saw me among the huge crowd of students at a glance. Then you just pointed at me, and I flew out of the crowd and landed in front of you.

I was a little nervous, but you were full of love for me.

You said after touching my head.

A child from a poor mountain area, he took on the burden of the family for his father when he was only five or six years old. He was willing to travel thousands of miles to help his father get medical treatment. He was of the first rank in the Heavenly Stage.

Child, what is your name?

Chen Dazhu!

Haha, the new children enrolled in school are all named Zi Han, Zi Xuan, Mu Cheng, etc. I haven’t heard such down-to-earth names for a long time. I am very happy.

Well, his character and talent are so suitable, and what's even more rare is that this child's personality is as strong as rock. It is indeed rare.

You asked me whether I was willing to take you as my father, whether I was willing to inherit my school, and whether I was willing to learn magical powers and techniques from you.

I nodded and agreed.

You laughed heartily, lifted me up high, and announced it publicly in front of countless people in the audience.

From now on, I am your adopted son, your disciple, and a student of the Wanfa Academy. My Buddhist name is Shi Jian. I hope that I will always be as tough and strong as a stone.
