Chapter 193: The Devil Behind the Blindfold
Chapter 193: The Devil Behind the Blindfold
Tony’s casual demeanor instantly vanished over the line. "Matteo, calm down. Do not lose your head. I will look into the security grid and find out what happened immediately. Just get here safely."
Matteo slammed the phone down, grabbed his coat, and stormed out of his office like a hurricane. His fingers flew across his screen as he speed-dialed Mark’s number to inform him of the nightmare unfolding.
"Teo? What’s up?" Mark answered on the second ring.
"Adrian’s gone," Matteo said, his voice trembling as he marched down the corporate hallway. "Someone grabbed him right after I dropped him off. I just got a text. I’ve already alerted Tony. I’m on my way back to the estate."
"Alright, Teo, calm down," Mark said on the other end of the line. "Head back here first. I’m going downstairs right now to talk to Tony and see what he’s found."
"Alright," Matteo muttered before ending the call.
He strode straight toward the private elevators, his bodyguards following close behind. They descended to the underground garage, where the secure convoy was already waiting.
Harry quickly opened the rear door of the lead vehicle, and Matteo slid into the backseat, while the rest of the security detail moved swiftly into the escort vehicles.
Within moments, the convoy was speeding through the city streets.
Matteo leaned forward and fixed the driver with a hard stare.
"Don’t go straight home. Stop by Adrian’s studio first. I want the security footage."
"Understood, boss," the driver replied.
Not long after, the convoy pulled up directly in front of Adrian’s studio building.
Matteo and his men marched inside, bypassing reception and heading straight for the CCTV security room.
The technician working there took one look at the lethal expression on Matteo’s face and didn’t dare ask any questions. He immediately pulled up the morning’s footage as requested.
As they stared at the monitors, the reality of the abduction became painfully clear. The footage showed Adrian walking out of the building flanked by two men wearing motorcycle helmets. Adrian appeared to be cooperating, suggesting they likely had a concealed weapon trained on him. To any casual bystander, it looked completely normal, which was why no one in the building realized he was being kidnapped.
They tracked the men through the security cameras all the way to the parking lot, but the license plate on their getaway vehicle was obscured and impossible to make out.
"That’s enough," Matteo said coldly.
The technician immediately downloaded the footage onto a flash drive. Moments later, Matteo and his men were back in the convoy, heading straight for the estate.
When they arrived at the estate, Matteo stormed into the living room.
Mark and Tony immediately rose to their feet and rushed toward him.
"Any updates, Teo?" Mark asked anxiously.
Matteo didn’t answer right away. He handed the flash drive to Harry.
"Show Tony the footage."
Seated on a nearby sofa, Kevin suddenly stood up, his face filled with shock and concern.
"Oh my God... who would do something like that to Adrian?" he asked, his voice trembling slightly as he looked around the room. "Is he going to be okay?"
Matteo didn’t say a single word to him. He walked over to a quiet corner of the living room and dropped into a chair, completely shutting out the noise around him.
He dragged both hands over his face, his chest tight with a suffocating weight. He hadn’t made any new enemies recently. He had deliberately avoided anything that could spark a new conflict or bring trouble to his doorstep.
Adrian, I hope you’re okay, he thought desperately.
Tony plugged the drive into a laptop, scanning the files. "Matteo, have you gotten any calls or another text? Anything we can use to trace a location?"
"No," Matteo muttered.
"He’ll be fine, Teo. Just calm down," Mark said, placing a reassuring hand on his twin’s shoulder.
Kevin stepped closer, crossing his arms uneasily.
"What could possibly happen to Adrian? Who would even take him?" he asked, glancing around the room.
Then he looked toward Matteo.
"Have you contacted Adrian’s family yet? Maybe whoever took him reached out to them instead, asking for a ransom."
Matteo snapped, looking up with dark, strained eyes.
"Maya trusts me completely with him. How the hell am I supposed to call her right now and tell her that her brother is missing?"
He slammed his fist hard against the armrest.
"If anything happens to Adrian... his father will hold me entirely responsible."
"Calm down, Teo," Mark urged softly, trying to de-escalate his brother’s rising panic. "Losing your head won’t bring him back."
Matteo leaned back, closing his eyes tightly. "I’m trying."
Tony looked up from the security footage. "Whoever did this knew Adrian’s schedule," he said grimly. "They hit the moment he was dropped off and grabbed him before he even made it inside his studio. This wasn’t random. They’ve been watching him."
Kevin quickly chimed in, "Who could that possibly be?"
"We don’t have that answer yet," Tony replied, fixing Kevin with a cold, unyielding stare. "But when we find out who did this, they’re going to regret ever laying a hand on Adrian."
Tony then turned to Matteo and signaled to him with his eyes.
"Private."
Matteo immediately got the message. He stood up, and Mark rose alongside him.
The three of them left the living room together, leaving Kevin behind.
Meanwhile, Adrian was trapped in an unknown location. His captors had covered his eyes with a thick, dark blindfold.
Remarkably, Adrian wasn’t scared. He wasn’t shaking or crying; he was simply waiting to find out who was behind all of this.
He held onto a fierce belief that if he was truly going to die today, he would make sure whoever did this regretted it for the rest of their life.
Finally, the blindfold was ripped from his face. As the bright light flooded his vision, a familiar figure came into view.
"Hi, darling," Kelly sneered.
Adrian didn’t flinch. Instead, he let out a dry, amused chuckle.
"I knew it. It could only be an unloved, miserable prick like you who would resort to something this desperate." His lips curled into a mocking smile. "What is this, Kelly? Are you really that obsessed with me?"
"Will you keep your fucking mouth shut, you fool?!" Kelly shouted, his face twisting with rage. He had fully expected Adrian to be terrified, shaking and begging for his life. Instead, Adrian looked entirely fearless, staring up at him with nothing but pure pity.
Kelly leaned in close, a sickening smile returning to his face.
"This time, no one is coming to save you," he whispered. "I finally have you all to myself."
His eyes gleamed with unhealthy obsession.
"You belong to me now, Adrian. I’m going to make you my slave in bed, and you will serve me as your master."
Despite his hands being tightly bound behind the wooden chair, Adrian laughed out loud. The threat didn’t seem to concern him at all.
"You are completely delusional, Kelly," Adrian said, his voice dripping with scorn. "You’re a miserable, pathetic loser who has never known what it feels like to be genuinely loved. You have a great career, and your fans practically worship the ground you walk on, but none of them know who you really are."
He let out a mocking laugh.
"Underneath all that fame, you’re nothing but a pathetic, obsessed kidnapper who can’t let go of the past."
Adrian didn’t stop there, hurling one insulting truth after another. "Look at you, hiding behind a mask because you’re too weak to face Matteo. You’re a coward who has to tie a man to a chair just to get his attention. You’re completely irrelevant, Kelly. You’re a nobody."
Driven to a breaking point by the relentless insults, Kelly’s face flushed a violent red. He marched forward and delivered a brutal, ringing slap across Adrian’s face, the force of the blast rattling the chair.
"Your goddamn mouth is exactly what got you here!" Kelly hissed, panting with rage. "Since you like to talk so much, I’m going to make sure you beg for mercy while I fuck you. No one is coming to save you from me this time!"
Adrian spit a bit of blood onto the floor, slowly raising his head with a lethal, unbroken glare. "I don’t mind you sleeping with me, you absolute loser. But let me promise you one thing, if you dare touch me, I will make it my life’s mission to kill you myself. You won’t survive what Matteo or I will do to you."
Infuriated by Adrian’s absolute refusal to submit, Kelly struck him across the face a second time. "Shut the fuck up, you fool!"
Meanwhile, back at the estate, the atmosphere in the private study was suffocating.
Matteo paced the floor, his face pale with stress.
"I’m worried about Adrian, Mark. I just hope to God he’s okay."
"He’ll be okay, Teo," Mark said, trying to steady his brother. "Just calm down. Tony is working on it right now."
Matteo stopped pacing and looked directly at Mark, his eyes wide with a very specific kind of fear.
"You don’t get it," he said. "If Adrian knows the person who kidnapped him, there’s no way he’ll keep his mouth shut. The second they say something stupid, he’ll say something back. He’ll provoke them, and they might hurt him."
Tony looked up from the security monitors.
"Isn’t that exactly what I’ve been trying to tell you?" he asked flatly. "That’s why I said you needed to teach him how to control his mouth."
Hearing that, Mark’s expression shifted. A sudden wave of panic hit him, but he forced himself to stay calm for his brother’s sake.
Matteo ran a hand through his hair, his voice tight with worry.
"Now I’m even more worried about his eye...
