Chapter 129 Becoming a 3D Agent of a Higher-Dimensional Civilization
Chapter 129 Becoming a 3D Agent of a Higher-Dimensional Civilization
"We've put these five-dimensional beings in charge of closing down the spacetime tunnels. This is to prevent the three-dimensional world from being torn apart by more and more spacetime tunnels," the voice announced.
“Wait, slow down. If fourth dimension is time, then what exactly is the fifth dimension?” Zhang Mei asked.
"The five-dimensional world is what you understand as parallel universes," the voice said. "In the five-dimensional world, every decision, every choice, will create a new parallel universe, and every parallel universe is a new world."
"Then, what about the sixth-dimensional world?" Zhao Zhi asked.
"The six-dimensional world is the collection of all parallel universes," the voice said. "In the six-dimensional world, you can see all parallel universes and all possibilities."
“Possibility? Is it possible that I didn’t even show up here?” Zhang Mei asked.
“Yes,” the voice said, “but now that you are here, the possibility that you didn’t appear has disappeared.”
"Disappeared?" Zhang Mei asked, puzzled.
“Yes, they’ve disappeared,” the voice said. “Every decision, every action, creates new possibilities and also makes some possibilities disappear.”
"Then, can we still go back?" Zhao Zhi asked.
"Yes, you've already gone back. These things happened simultaneously. Time is linear for you, but it's not for me," the voice said.
"How many dimensions are there? What are worlds with six dimensions or more like?" Zhang Mei asked.
"The seventh-dimensional world is the collection of all six-dimensional worlds. You can understand it as the collection of all possibilities," the voice said. "In the seventh-dimensional world, you can see all possibilities, all parallel universes, and all decisions and choices."
"Then, what about the eight-dimensional world?" Zhao Zhi asked again.
“The eight-dimensional world is a world that I cannot describe using your three-dimensional language,” the voice said. “In that world, time, space, and possibility are no longer what you understand them to be.”
"You mean... the multiverse?" Zhang Mei asked.
“Not the multiverse, but… an ineffable world.” The voice paused, as if searching for the right words. “In that world, every existence, every concept, is a completely new dimension. Your three-dimensional world is merely an insignificant projection of that world.”
"Then how could we possibly understand that world?" Zhao Zhi asked, puzzled.
“You cannot understand, nor do you need to understand,” the voice said. “Because that world is irrelevant to you; you only need to focus on your own three-dimensional world.”
"So, what do you want to tell us by bringing us here?" Zhang Mei asked again.
"The idyllic era of the ten-dimensional world is over; the universe is becoming lower in dimensions," the voice said. "The agents of the five-dimensional world are no longer able to complete the tasks of the three-dimensional world; we need agents from the three-dimensional world."
"An agent?" Zhao Zhi and Zhang Mei exclaimed at the same time.
“Yes, agents,” the voice replied affirmatively. “We need you to become our agents in the three-dimensional world, to help us maintain the stability of the spacetime tunnels and prevent more spacetime tunnels from being opened.”
"We? How could we possibly do that?" Zhang Mei exclaimed, her eyes wide with disbelief.
“You can do it,” the voice said. “You have wisdom, courage, and determination. I believe you can accomplish this task.”
"But what do we do?" Zhao Zhi asked.
"I will give you the power to sense the existence of time tunnels and to close them," the voice said. "However, this will require your courage and determination, because you may encounter danger in the process."
“Danger?” Zhang Mei took a deep breath. “We are not afraid of danger. We are willing to give anything to protect our world.”
“Very good,” the voice said. “So, are you ready?”
"Ready?" Zhao Zhi and Zhang Mei said in unison.
The voice rang out again, seemingly with a hint of relief: "Then, let's begin."
As the sound faded, Zhao Zhi and Zhang Mei felt a powerful force surge into their bodies, and their vision began to change, as if they could see time tunnels flickering around them.
Before their eyes appeared an endless time tunnel.
These time tunnels come in various shapes: rectangles, squares, triangles, circles, and ellipses. They aren't all two-dimensional planes; some are three-dimensional, and their colors vary. Some have sharp, angular edges, while others have edges that appear blurred or misty.
Looking into the tunnels, some were just black curtains of light, others were white doors. And in some, the world on the other side of the tunnel was clearly visible.
"Are these all time tunnels?" Zhao Zhi asked in surprise.
“Yes,” the voice replied. “These spacetime tunnels connect different worlds and different dimensions. They are unstable and could collapse at any time, releasing enormous energy that could cause disaster to your three-dimensional world.”
"How do we turn them off?" Zhang Mei asked.
“Go pick a leaf, throw it into the tunnel, and the tunnel will close. Not here, but on the other side of the tunnel,” the voice said.
Zhao Zhi and Zhang Mei exchanged a glance; they understood that this mission would not be easy. They needed to enter these time tunnels, travel to another world, and shut down these unstable passages.
"Can we refuse?" Zhang Mei asked.
"You've already refused, and of course, you've also agreed. All possibilities exist simultaneously for me," the voice rang out.
"Can you send us back to Earth?" Sun Li asked.
"If you're referring to the human concept of space, then of course it's possible, but due to time debt, when you return, there will be no humans left on Earth. If you're referring to time, I'm sorry, you are three-dimensional beings and cannot return to your past. Of course, we can send you back to a place as close as possible to your own timeline." The voice continued, "Based on scenarios that have occurred countless times, I still have to ask you, are you really not considering becoming agents? You can possess powers that three-dimensional beings cannot. Won't you reconsider?"
"No need," Zhao Zhi and Zhang Mei replied in unison.
The voice paused for a moment, then said, "Alright, I respect your choice. So, I will send you back to a place as close as possible to your own timeline. Remember, you now possess the ability to sense time tunnels. If you encounter similar situations in the future, I hope you will bravely stand up and protect your world."
As the sound faded, Zhao Zhi and Zhang Mei felt a force envelop them, their bodies began to blur, and then they disappeared from the spot.
"What about you?"
Only Sun Li remained on the grassland.
“Me?” Sun Li was stunned for a moment, then took a deep breath. “I’m willing to become an agent.”
As Sun Li finished speaking, a powerful force surged into her body, and her vision began to change. She found herself standing on a huge platform, surrounded by endless void.
Before her eyes appeared a giant screen of light, displaying images of countless time tunnels. Each tunnel connected to a different world, some bright, some dim, some full of life, and some utterly desolate.
“Welcome to the ranks of agents, Sun Li.” A gentle voice sounded in her ear. “I am Wen Bin, and I am communicating directly with you.”
