Chapter 45 Is Dad Missing?
Chapter 45 Is Dad Missing?
When Qin Yanlin's parents heard that Qin Yanlin was missing, they immediately called their children and asked them to visit various relatives and friends.
Deng Xiuzhen first went to the supply and marketing cooperative and asked people in the neighborhood, but they all said they had never seen Qin Yanlin.
Qin Xiuwen asked around, and almost everyone he knew said they hadn't seen Qin Yanlin recently.
Although she didn't think Qin Yanlin would go to her parents' home, she still decided to go and look for him.
When she returned to her parents' home, He Taoxiu immediately scolded her, saying that Deng Xiuzhen had caused Deng Chunlin to go to jail. She claimed that if Deng Chunlin hadn't refused to lend her money, he wouldn't have done bad things, and if he hadn't done bad things, he wouldn't have gone to jail.
Deng Xiuzhen ignored her insults and told Deng Kaihuai about Qin Yanlin's disappearance. But just like in front of her in-laws and others, she didn't mention that she had bought the land. She only said that the two of them had quarreled.
When He Taoxiu heard this, she said he deserved it. Song Yuanxiang didn't say anything, but her gloating was obvious.
Deng Kaihuai called Deng Chunsheng, who then called Deng's relatives. Together, they searched extensively, asking people to help them, but they didn't get any useful information.
When she returned to her mother-in-law's house, she saw her second brother, Qin Yanbin, standing by the door. Deng Xiuzhen called out to him, "Second brother."
Before she could finish speaking, a teacup flew over and landed on Deng Xiuzhen's forehead, instantly raising a large bump.
"You wicked devil! You evil mother... If it weren't for you, how could my Yanlin have disappeared?" Mother-in-law Li Qiumei slapped her thigh while crying and cursing.
Deng Xiuzhen was dazed by the teacup hitting her and before she could react, she saw her father-in-law, Qin Guohui, rushing towards her with a hoe.
Third sister-in-law Liu Juxiang pulled her away.
The second brother, Qin Yanbin, stopped Qin Guohui and said, "If you beat her to death, won't Yanlin be angry when she comes back? Besides, Yanlin isn't back now, who will take care of the child?"
Second sister-in-law Song Heyuan pushed her along, saying as she did so, "Hurry up, Yanlin hasn't come back yet, you should hurry back to the city!"
Seeing Deng Xiuzhen about to leave, Li Qiumei came over and started tearing at her.
Liu Juxiang pulled Li Qiumei away, and Song Heyuan turned around to help Liu Juxiang, urging Deng Xiuzhen to hurry up.
With the help of her second and third sisters-in-law, Deng Xiuzhen quickly ran out of the village and took a car back to the city.
Back in the city, she first went to the police station to inquire about the situation.
Tian Guoqiang told her, "Everyone has done their best, but due to limited resources, we haven't received any useful information yet."
Dejected, Deng Xiuzhen returned home and sat in the cold house. She deeply regretted her decision; if she had known it would turn out this way, she wouldn't have bought the land and would have let Qin Yanlin open an electronics store instead.
Clinging to her last glimmer of hope, Deng Xiuzhen drove her Mamoru to the foot of Jucai Mountain, parked the car by the roadside, and braved the cold wind to walk up the mountain.
"Deng, Deng Xiuzhen?" Li Huzi was very surprised to see Deng Xiuzhen.
Deng Xiuzhen had a very bad impression of Li Huzi, who was spewing filth, but she still greeted him warmly because she wanted to know if Qin Yanlin had come here.
As expected, no useful information was obtained.
Old Man Li asked Li Huzi to see Deng Xiuzhen off, but she refused. She didn't want to owe someone a favor because she didn't have a good impression of them. Old Man Li didn't insist either.
Deng Xiuzhen walked back in a daze, when suddenly her foot slipped and she fell into a pit.
Fortunately, the pit wasn't deep, and she wasn't seriously injured. As soon as she climbed out, she looked up and saw a boy.
The boy held a net in his left hand and a steel fork in his right, glaring angrily at her.
Deng Xiuzhen recognized the boy as the son of the mother and son who had argued with Li Huzi that day.
She sensed hostility, but was in a hurry to get home and didn't want to cause trouble, so she decided to ignore it and leave.
"Stop right there!" The boy blocked her way, pointing at her with the steel fork in his hand.
Just as Deng Xiuzhen was about to speak, she suddenly noticed the keychain on the boy's waist, which was exactly the same as the keychain she had found in the house.
The boy's clothes were not torn, but they were obviously old and did not fit well, looking like old clothes that someone else had worn.
How could a boy like this possibly buy such an exquisite keychain?
Deng Xiuzhen looked at the boy, raised a smile, and asked, "Is there something you need?"
"What are you doing here?" The boy pushed the steel fork forward a little further.
Deng Xiuzhen looked up and around, realizing that she seemed to have taken the wrong turn; she had never been to this place before.
"Don't even think about running away, you can't escape!" The boy realized Deng Xiuzhen's intention and said coldly.
"You little brat, you've got some nerve! How dare you bully my guest!" With a rough curse, Li Huzi walked over with a smile.
"You! When I grow up, I'll definitely kill you!" the boy threatened, then turned and ran away.
"Why are you here?" Looking at Li Huzi now, he didn't seem as annoying as before, and Deng Xiuzhen's voice softened considerably.
“The old man said you looked off and was worried you’d taken the wrong way, so he asked me to take you. You refused, so he told me to come with you.” Li Huzi said, scratching his head, then waved his hand and said, “Come on, I’ll take you out.”
This time, Deng Xiuzhen did not refuse and readily agreed.
"Who is that boy? Why is he looking at me like I'm his enemy?" Deng Xiuzhen asked.
"That brat? He's a stubborn mule. Don't worry, he's not a bad guy, he won't hurt you," Li Huzi replied.
"Then why did he do that?" Because of the keychain, Deng Xiuzhen didn't want to gloss over the question, so she continued to ask.
"I bet he caught some prey that you accidentally ruined, so he's angry and probably wants you to compensate him for something," Li Huzi said, then laughed, perhaps thinking of something.
“You seem to know him very well,” Deng Xiuzhen said with a smile.
“This child has bad luck. His father is a good-for-nothing…” Li Huzi stopped there, took a deep breath and said, “Let’s not talk about this anymore, let’s hurry up and go, it looks like it’s going to rain.”
Li Huzi clearly didn't want to say more, and Deng Xiuzhen didn't press him further.
The two hurried on their way, and when they reached the main road, it began to drizzle.
Deng Xiuzhen told Li Huzi to go back quickly, and she herself hurriedly ran to the place where the nudibranchs were parked.
Upon reaching our destination, we discovered that the numbness had vanished!
She feared she had remembered the wrong place, so she searched along the road, but still couldn't find Numb.
Deng Xiuzhen realized that her numbness had probably been stolen.
It took Deng Xiuzhen more than an hour to walk home in the rain. She really wanted to cry, but she couldn't. She had to pick up her children and didn't want them to feel her bad mood.
After changing into clean clothes, I went to Old Zhao's house. The children rushed up to me and asked, "Where's Dad? Has Dad come back?"
Deng Xiuzhen didn't speak, she just shook her head.
"Mom, is Dad missing?" Wenjing asked, her eyes red and her voice trembling with tears.
Wenxin and Wenyu began to cry quietly.
Deng Xiuzhen didn't speak, nor did she offer any comfort. It wasn't that she didn't want to talk, but rather that she didn't know what to say, or whether she should tell the children about their argument.
She felt very dizzy.
"Xiuzhen, do you have a fever?" Old Zhao asked.
