Chapter 8 The Secret Training Ground

Chapter 8 The Secret Training Ground

Qiu Ziyue's life in the Valley of Passion gradually got on track. Her daily practice and cultivation made her feel fulfilled, but also very bored.

"Ugh, this is so boring, like eating without salt. There's nothing to make me laugh," Qiu Ziyue muttered to herself.

One evening, she washed her master Qiu Ruoshui's feet, and the two chatted in a warm atmosphere.

"Master, there's a question I've always wanted to ask you," Qiu Ziyue said softly, continuing to wash her feet.

Qiu Ruoshui smiled slightly and looked at her with affection: "Ask away, whatever your questions are."

"Why do I always practice alone and never see the other disciples?" Qiu Ziyue asked curiously.

A complex emotion flashed in Qiu Ruoshui's eyes, but she quickly regained her composure.

She said gently, "Twilight Sparkle, have you forgotten? But it's understandable, you were only eight years old when you first came here, and you weren't very familiar with this terrain."

“Your situation is different from the other disciples. You were entrusted by an old friend, so we will take special care of you. In addition, you were anxious because you saw the other disciples making rapid progress while you couldn’t keep up, so we decided to let you practice alone to avoid putting psychological pressure on you.”

Qiu Ruoshui added.

Qiu Ziyue nodded, somewhat understanding. In her memory, she only retained fragments of Tao Ling'er's memories, and only vague shadows remained of many people and things.

But her curiosity was not completely satisfied; instead, it intensified.

The next morning, Qiu Ziyue got up early, planning to check on the other disciples' training.

She tiptoed out of the room, trying not to disturb anyone.

As I slowly made my way along the path through the valley, my heart was filled with curiosity and anticipation.

Her master, Qiu Ruoshui, told her that the large training ground for practicing the zither and sword was hidden in a secret location, accessible only through a specific hidden door.

This training ground was specially designed to prevent other sects from spying on you.

The path was lined with dense woods, and the occasional birdsong added to the tranquility.

Qiu Ziyue felt both nervous and excited. She imagined the mysterious training ground she was about to see and couldn't help but feel a little uneasy.

According to Qiu Ruoshui's description, the secret door was located at the entrance of a small cave.

Qiu Ziyue searched carefully and finally found the hidden mechanism behind what looked like an ordinary rock.

Following her master's instructions, she gently pressed down on a protruding rock. With a "click," the rock slowly moved aside, revealing a narrow passage.

Qiu Ziyue took a deep breath and mustered her courage to walk into the passage.

The passage was dark and damp, but after walking a short distance, the view suddenly opened up, and a bright light came into view.

Qiu Ziyue walked out of the passage and came to a huge training ground.

The training ground was spacious and open, surrounded by clouds and mist, with the fragrance of flowers filling the air. The pavilions, waterside terraces, small bridges, and flowing water made it look like a fairyland, which was refreshing and delightful.

The training ground was surrounded by various kinds of musical instruments and swords. In the center was a circular open space supported by four huge pillars, like a stage built by the heavens for the musicians.

"This is such a beautiful place, it would be strange not to have inspiration here," Qiu Ziyue muttered to herself.

The entire venue was decorated in a way that was both exquisite and practical, and it was truly breathtaking.

On one side of the training ground, there was a row of neat seats, clearly for the masters to use.

On the other side are various martial arts training equipment, ranging from simple wooden stakes to complex weapons.

Ancient scrolls hang on each pillar, depicting the demeanor of masters throughout history and the stories of their lineage.

The disciples have already begun their practice in the training ground.

Some were practicing swordsmanship, some were playing the piano, and others were practicing light-body skills.

Their movements weren't very skillful, and they seemed rather lazy.

"Hmph, what is this? Four such excellent masters, yet they raised such a bunch of good-for-nothings. What a pity, what a pity," Qiu Ziyue stood quietly to the side, observing everything, secretly feeling sorry for the four masters.

Just as Qiu Ziyue was immersed in this mysterious environment, a disciple noticed her and shouted, "Who's there?"

Qiu Ziyue was taken aback, then stepped forward with a smile: "I am Qiu Ziyue, my master sent me."

Upon hearing her answer, the disciples all stopped what they were doing and looked at her curiously.

"Hehe, Qiu Ziyue, it's been two years, you've changed a bit. Aren't you supposed to be practicing alone? What brings you here today?" one of the senior students said.

"I missed you all, so I wanted to come and see you," Qiu Ziyue said, blinking her eyes.

“It’s been two years, and you’ve become more cheerful,” a female disciple said.

"What was I like before?" Qiu Ziyue asked again.

“Don’t you remember?” another disciple said. “You used to dislike talking. You would never say more than three sentences a day, just ‘yes,’ ‘okay,’ and ‘yes.’”

"I see," Qiu Ziyue said thoughtfully.

"What are you all doing there instead of practicing your skills?"

As they were talking, a voice came from behind, and then three men walked over one after the other.

The three men were handsome, each with their own unique charm.

Judging from Qiu Ziyue's attire, she seemed to be a disciple of the Valley of Passion, but her gestures and movements suggested she was their senior brother.

The three men walked over and overheard a disciple whispering a few words to them.

Based on Tao Ling'er's previous memories, she guessed that the one walking at the front should be her senior brother Qiu Langyu.

The eldest brother was tall and broad-shouldered, giving people a sense of stability and reliability.

His hair was tied in a simple ponytail, he wore a gentle smile, and his eyes sparkled with wisdom.

He was dressed in a light blue training uniform, with a long sword hanging at his waist. The scabbard was engraved with exquisite patterns, making it look very refined.

Qiu Langyu walked up to Qiu Ziyue and said gently, "Junior sister, how's your practice going? Have you encountered any difficulties?"

Qiu Ziyue smiled slightly and replied, "Thank you for your concern, Senior Brother. I'm gradually getting used to it."

Following closely behind was the second senior brother, Qiu Wentian. He was tall and slender, with elegant manners, giving people a refined and cultured feeling.

His hair was neatly combed back, and he always had a gentle smile on his face.

Qiu Wentian was wearing a white training uniform and holding a guqin in his hand. The guqin was carved with exquisite patterns, giving it a simple and elegant appearance.

Qiu Wentian nodded gently and said with a smile, "Junior sister, it's been two years. How about you play a piece for us in a bit?"

Upon hearing this, Qiu Ziyue felt a surge of warmth in her heart and nodded in agreement, saying, "Second Senior Brother, I'll play for you when I have the chance. Let's practice together."

The third senior brother, Qiu Wenfeng, was well-proportioned and agile, giving him a nimble and quick-witted appearance. His hair was slightly disheveled, but his eyes shone with a sharp light.

Qiu Wenfeng, dressed in a black training uniform with two short swords hanging at his waist, exuded a commanding presence. He walked up to Qiu Ziyue and smiled, "Junior Sister, welcome to visit."

Qiu Ziyue smiled and replied, "I will, senior brother. You guys are so kind."

Qiu Ziyue chatted with the disciples for a while. She felt that they had different personalities and characteristics, and they were very friendly. She wondered why Tao Ling'er had not been able to get along with them before.

After exchanging pleasantries for a while, the disciples began their training.

Qiu Ziyue watched for a while and discovered that Qiu Langyu was skilled in swordsmanship, especially in switching freely between heavy and light swords.

His swordsmanship combines strength and gentleness, possessing both power and beauty.

Qiu Wentian was a master of the zither. His melodious and soothing music could comfort people, and his zither skills had reached a level of divine artistry.

Qiu Wenfeng is skilled in light footwork and dual swords. His movements are agile and swift, like the wind, making him unpredictable.

Seeing Qiu Ziyue sitting to one side, the three senior brothers suggested that she demonstrate her musical skills and swordsmanship, and the other disciples echoed their suggestion.

Unable to resist the large crowd and lively atmosphere, Qiu Ziyue didn't want to spoil everyone's fun, so she agreed.

Qiu Ziyue stood in the center of the training ground, feeling a little nervous. This was the first time she had showcased her musical skills and swordsmanship in front of so many disciples.

In order not to arouse too much suspicion, she decided to perform at the same level as Tao Ling'er before, deliberately hiding her true abilities.

The disciples gathered in a circle, their eyes filled with anticipation and curiosity.

Qiu Langyu, Qiu Wentian, and Qiu Wenfeng also stood aside, quietly watching her.

Qiu Ziyue took a deep breath and first picked up the longsword in her hand.

Following Tao Ling'er's swordsmanship, she slowly swung her sword, each move appearing somewhat clumsy, yet still maintaining the basic principles.

Upon seeing this, the disciples began to discuss it amongst themselves.

"It's been two years, and Junior Sister Ziyue's swordsmanship is still so rusty, she hasn't improved at all."

"Yes, she made a fool of herself in public during the last zither and sword competition. It was really embarrassing."

Some disciples even said sarcastically, "How can someone of this level be worthy of being a disciple of our Valley of Passion?"
