Chapter 1035: Eliminating a Traitor
Chapter 1035: Eliminating a Traitor
Gui'er is just spouting nonsense to buy time.
“There’s chaos and communication has been cut off everywhere. Your parents have passed away, and he probably thinks you’re dead too and has remarried. This kind of thing is all too common. Why do you care so much about him?” Captain Hao said with a smile.
It was too easy to persuade this helpless girl. He was quite confident in himself, but he felt his breathing was a little rapid. Strange, he could usually maintain the image of a gentleman. It seemed that wearing a kimono was really attractive to him. This girl was too good at dealing with people.
He even felt a little dizzy and his tongue felt numb. He raised his hand to wipe his forehead and found that he wasn't sweating, but he felt his heart beating very fast.
Captain Hao didn't care about anything else. He stood up, loosened his tie, took off his coat, and walked unsteadily toward Gui'er.
Gui'er hurriedly retreated in a panic.
"Don't hide. Didn't we already agree? If you take good care of me, I won't treat you badly. I'll just have that guy surnamed Lin inform your fiancé. It's not a big deal. Come here."
Gui'er looked at Captain Hao, wondering whether she should draw her gun and fight him, but suddenly noticed that his pupils had already dilated.
"Good medicine, it works really fast," Gui'er thought to herself, and quickly stepped forward to Captain Hao, saying, "Captain Hao, what's wrong? You look so pale." Gui'er pretended to help him up, and as soon as her fingertips touched his arm, Captain Hao suddenly swayed, like a hollowed-out tree. He opened his mouth to speak, but felt as if something was stuck in his throat, and he couldn't make a sound. His eyes widened as if they were about to bulge out of their sockets.
A moment later, his legs gave way and he collapsed to the ground with a thud. His limbs twitched a few times and then he remained motionless, a greedy smile still frozen on his face.
Gui'er breathed a sigh of relief and hurriedly and laboriously got him onto the bed, quickly stripping off his shirt and pants, leaving him lying naked on the bed.
Then she searched his clothes for valuables. She didn't want to do this, but she didn't know if she would need the money later, and she and Wu Mingqiang were both broke.
Gui'er pulled a bulging wallet from the inside pocket of her suit. She couldn't take the wallet, but she took most of the money inside, which was mostly US dollars and silver dollars. This traitor didn't even use the kind of Central Reserve Bank notes issued by the Japanese. Afterwards, she also found a gold watch and even took her cufflinks.
She folded Captain Hao's clothes and placed them on the bedside table next to the bed. She deliberately made him lie on his side with his head facing inwards, pulled the blanket up to his waist, exposing his upper body and half of his buttocks. Looking at his naked appearance, she sneered.
Then Gui'er changed her clothes, took the kimono and went to find the proprietress. She deliberately messed up her hair and left a few buttons undone at the collar. She smiled and said, "Proprietress, here's your kimono back." The proprietress was well-informed and knew that many dancers who had affairs with Japanese and traitors frequented this place, so she didn't think much of it. She checked that the kimono was intact, didn't ask any questions, took the kimono, and went about her business.
Gui'er breathed a sigh of relief and went back to her room to check again. Suddenly remembering something, she quickly took hot water from the thermos and rinsed the teapot several times. She wasn't worried about others finding out; a captain from the military police headquarters had been killed, so the case would definitely come to light. But she couldn't let it be discovered immediately; she had to wait until she returned to Hong Kong.
After she finished everything and checked it over again, making sure nothing was missed, she went downstairs. Just as she stepped out of the hotel, Lin Zhengfu and Wu Mingqiang emerged from the arcade across the street. Wu Mingqiang stepped forward and carefully examined Gui'er, asking, "Miss, are you alright?"
Lin Zhengfu chuckled maliciously and said, "Captain Hao is a refined man, what could possibly happen to him? By the way, where is Captain Hao?"
Gui'er pretended to be shy and said, "He said he was tired and needed to rest."
Lin Zhengfu found it strange. This Captain Hao was a skilled fighter, strong and healthy. Last time, the teenage girl he brought over as tribute was so badly abused that she bled from her genitals for a whole day and almost died. How could this time be different? Besides, when he first entered, Captain Hao looked at this girl with obvious liking. Usually, Captain Hao wouldn't be satisfied with just one time. Why would he let her go so easily?
He thought for a moment, then turned to Wu Mingqiang and said, "I'll go ask Captain Hao. If he takes a fancy to the lady, it's perfectly normal for him to be willing to treat her to a few days. But don't worry, the captain will cover the expenses for those few days, and he will definitely send you two back to Hong Kong safely."
Gui'er quickly said, "When I came down, he said he was tired and told people not to bother him. He said he would come to find you later. As for us, we can go now."
Lin Zhengfu was skeptical, but smiled and said, "It won't make a difference if I leave in a little while. Besides, I should at least say goodbye before I go."
Wu Mingqiang clenched his fist. If it weren't for the fact that there were Japanese soldiers and military police everywhere around the dock, and the traitors, he could have smashed Lin Zhengfu's head with one punch.
However, this person was still useful for the time being, so Wu Mingqiang and Gui'er had no choice but to follow him upstairs and wait for an opportunity to act.
Upon arriving at room 205 on the second floor, Lin Zhengfu knocked on the door: "Captain Hao, Miss and the others are leaving."
No one answered.
Gui'er said, "I told you he was asleep, but you wouldn't believe me."
Lin Zhengfu didn't say anything, but continued to knock on the door.
Gui'er was afraid that if he knocked for too long and no one answered, he would become suspicious, so she quickly opened the door and said, "Stop making noise. If you wake him up, he will get angry. You'll see."
Lin Zhengfu pushed open the door and glanced at the bed. Sure enough, there was someone lying on the bed. Judging from the figure, it must be Captain Hao. However, he was sleeping on his side, and his big white buttocks were exposed, which was extremely eye-catching. He blushed immediately and quickly backed out, saying awkwardly, "I will arrange a boat to take you to Hong Kong."
The three of them went downstairs and left the hotel. Wu Mingqiang said to Lin Zhengfu, "Mr. Lin, what time do you plan to take us back by boat? Would you like to come back with us?"
Lin Zhengfu thought for a moment, then shook his head and said, "If you want to be on the same ship as me, you'll probably have to wait until tomorrow. If you can't wait, I'll arrange for you two to go back to Hong Kong first. Don't worry, I'll make all the arrangements, and nothing will go wrong."
Gui'er and Wu Mingqiang exchanged a glance. If Lin Zhengfu knew 100% that they were the ones who did it when the case came to light, and if they stayed in Guangzhou, they would likely provide clues to the Japanese.
“I see. I have a large shipment that I want to ship over, and I’d like to discuss it with you in detail. This time, we want to save some money. Can we bypass Mitsui & Co. and talk to you privately? That way, we can give you all the commission,” Wu Mingqiang said.
