Chapter 2901 - 2431: It Seems like the Retribution Has Really Come

She couldn’t even stand steadily.

She felt her body losing strength, unable to muster even the tiniest bit of force.

This wasn’t the same as when she had gotten drunk before.

Mr. Canton picked her up and carried her to a large bed by the side.

As Annie was thrown onto the soft bed, her consciousness blurred, and she saw several men appear in the room that initially had just her and Mr. Canton.

After taking two days off, Joanna returned to Cascade to continue filming "My Internship Parents."

Due to her absence, the director filmed other people’s parts first. When she returned, she made up some of the scenes she had missed. Thankfully, the filming schedule wasn’t significantly affected.

For the next period, the filming went very smoothly.

A week after returning to Cascade, Joanna received a call from Jeremy that something had happened to Annie.

Jeremy said, "Annie was gang-raped, and it was all filmed and posted online. Now everyone knows about it. She believes David Benington is responsible and went after him with a knife, wanting to die with him."

He continued, "During their argument, she got stabbed multiple times by David and was hit in a critical spot. She’s still in the hospital and her life hangs in the balance. Apparently, her chances of survival are quite low."

Jeremy added, "David’s been arrested. He stabbed her in public; there were countless eyewitnesses. Regardless of whether Annie survives, he’s bound to be convicted. Moreover, if it’s proven that he ordered the filming of the assault, he’ll likely spend the rest of his life in prison."

Joanna was utterly shocked.

It took her some time to recover.

"You said Annie was stabbed by David? And the police arrested him?"

"Yes, the incident just happened, so I doubt it’ll be on the news yet. But I’ve checked with someone, and there’s no doubt about it."

Joanna was astonished for a while.

She couldn’t quite put her finger on what she was feeling at that moment.

Both Annie and David were people she despised intensely.
