Chapter 727: Human Puppets
Chapter 727: Human Puppets
Then Tammy suddenly shouted a name. "Patrick!"
Patrick hurried inside and knelt.
Without warning, Tammy struck him. Bang!
Patrick was thrown across the room. Before he could even recover, another attack landed.
His screams echoed throughout the room.
Yet nobody dared intervene.
Tammy continued beating him until his body resembled a broken rag doll.
By the end, Patrick lay motionless. Dead.
However, Tammy merely snapped her fingers. Snap.
A strange energy enveloped Patrick’s body.
His crushed bones repaired themselves. His torn flesh regenerated.
Within moments, he gasped and opened his eyes once more.
As though nothing had happened. Tammy pointed toward the exit.
"Leave."
Patrick immediately lowered his head. Without a word, he hurried away.
Only after he disappeared did Tammy slowly regain her composure.
Taking a deep breath, she spoke coldly.
"Since those human puppets can’t help us capture Ivy, then we’ll make them useful in another way."
A cruel smile appeared on her face.
"Tell them to cry. Tell them to scream until their voices are gone. Tell them to scratch themselves until their entire bodies are covered in blood. Tell them to kneel until they can no longer feel their legs. Tell them to smash their heads against the ground until they die."
Nanami merely gave a faint nod.
Without hesitation, he clicked a small device and repeated every command.
Once he finished, he returned the device to his pocket.
Tammy closed her eyes. However, she wasn’t finished.
"Those human puppets aren’t enough."
Her voice grew colder.
"Create more. Turn as many humans into puppets as possible."
As she spoke, hatred filled her face. Then she murmured softly.
"Ivy... I originally thought I could give you a chance. A chance to redeem yourself. But after killing Jerry and Haku, you’ve proven something."
Her eyes slowly opened.
"There can never be cooperation between us."
At that moment, Coco cautiously raised her hand.
"If that’s the case..."
Her voice contained both excitement and desperation.
"Can we begin moving against Moona and Maxi?"
Tammy barely glanced at her.
"Do whatever you want."
Her expression remained indifferent.
"I don’t care how it’s done. I only want results."
A cruel smile appeared on her lips.
"And I want humanity to suffer enough that they eventually realize one thing. Everything happening to them is because of Ivy."
Meanwhile, inside the Silvy Base, Ivy remained in bed.
She was quietly thinking when Martha suddenly rushed into the room.
The unexpected visit immediately caught Ivy’s attention.
After all, Martha rarely visited unless something important had happened.
Ivy frowned. "What is it?"
Martha’s expression was unusually serious. "A large group of humans has appeared outside our perimeter."
Ivy immediately sat up slightly. "What happened?"
Martha hesitated before answering.
The more Martha described the situation, the grimmer Ivy’s expression became.
Just as she was preparing to get out of bed, Silas stepped forward. "I’ll handle it."
Ivy immediately frowned.
Before she could object, Silas gently shook her head. "You need rest."
After a brief moment, Ivy sighed.
She knew he was right.
The blood transfer and the massive suppression effort had left her extremely weakened.
Reluctantly, she nodded. Silas immediately followed Martha outside.
As they traveled toward the outer perimeter, Silas began considering the situation.
’Are these people hallucinating? Or are they being controlled?’
Neither possibility was good. When they finally arrived, even Silas was stunned.
The scene before him was horrifying. Hundreds of humans stood in strange positions.
An invisible force seemed to prevent them from crossing a certain line.
Their eyes were bloodshot. Their faces were covered in tears.
Every one of them screamed desperately.
Many had scratched their skin so severely that blood was dripping from their arms, necks, and faces.
Others remained on their knees. Their legs trembled violently. Yet none of them dared stand.
It was as if they had completely lost control over their own bodies.
One man had become so desperate that he had urinated on himself.
Yet even then, he continued kneeling and crying.
The sight was so tragic that several guards turned pale.
Silas’s expression immediately darkened.
Someone was controlling them. That much was obvious.
Without hesitation, he turned toward the guards. "Spray the anesthesia."
The guards instantly moved. Moments later, clouds of mist spread through the area.
One by one, the humans began collapsing. Soon, most of them had fallen asleep.
Their screaming stopped. Seeing this, Silas’s eyes narrowed.
His theory had been correct. As long as they were asleep, the strange behavior ceased.
However, that only confirmed his suspicions.
After ensuring everyone was unconscious, Silas looked toward Martha.
Martha immediately understood.
Turning toward the nearby guards, she gave an order.
"Tie them up carefully."
The guards nodded.
The captured humans were not immediately brought into the Silvy Base.
Instead, every single one of them was thoroughly inspected.
Their bodies were scanned. Their blood was tested.
Even their clothing and belongings were carefully examined.
Only after the researchers and soldiers confirmed that there were no hidden dangers, no explosives, and no unknown contaminants were they finally transported inside.
However, they were not taken to the main base.
Instead, they were brought to the underground city that Ivy had gradually begun constructing beneath the Silvy Base.
The underground city was unlike any ordinary settlement.
It had been specifically created for those who could not safely appear on the surface of Earth.
Various intelligent beasts lived there.
There were mutated humans who were neither fully human nor zombie.
There were also certain half-zombies who had proven immune to every antidote that had been developed so far.
Although their appearances remained altered, they retained their intelligence and were capable of living peacefully among others.
Then there were a handful of complete zombies who had somehow preserved their sanity despite never being cured.
Other than them, some dangerous criminals were also confined within the underground city.
These individuals were not imprisoned because they had crossed any recent line.
Rather, they were placed there as a precaution.
Security patrols were exceptionally strict.
