Chapter 1693 Extremely Busy
Chapter 1693 Extremely Busy
Nan Weiwei suddenly remembered something and exclaimed, "Oh no! I completely forgot about sending a dress to Nan Yifeng's mother."
Seeing Nan Weiwei's anxious look, Xiaomei comforted her, "Weiwei, don't worry, it's not too late to send it now."
Nan frowned slightly, looked at the pitch-black sky outside the window, sighed helplessly, and said, "It's so late, they're probably all resting. I'd better call and ask first."
As she spoke, Nan Weiwei walked to the sofa, picked up her phone, and dialed Nan Yifeng's mother's number.
After a few rings, Nan Yifeng's mother's cheerful voice came through the phone: "Weiwei, is there something you need calling so late?"
Nan Weiwei quickly said apologetically, "Auntie, I'm so sorry, I was busy with Xiaomei's things today and forgot to send you the dress."
Nan Yifeng's mother laughed on the other end of the phone and said, "Oh, I thought it was something serious. The dress isn't urgent, so don't bother making this trip so late at night. I'm still out meeting with my girlfriends and haven't come home yet. You can bring it over in a few days when you have time."
Nan Weiwei felt relieved after hearing this, and said gratefully, "Okay, Auntie, I'm so sorry to bother you. Have fun."
After hanging up the phone, Nan Wei breathed a sigh of relief and turned to Xiao Mei, saying, "Luckily, Auntie said there's no rush, otherwise I really wouldn't know what to do so late at night."
Xiao Mei chuckled and teased, "Weiwei, you're becoming more and more virtuous, caring so much about Nan Yifeng's mother."
Nan Weiwei's cheeks flushed slightly. She gently pushed Xiao Mei and said, "Get lost! I promised her, so I have to keep my word. Besides, Auntie is usually very kind to me."
After speaking, Nan Weiwei walked to the window again, gazing at the dark night sky outside, her thoughts gradually drifting away.
Although we had a close call today, thankfully Xiaomei is safe and sound, and Nan Yifeng's mother didn't suffer any inconvenience due to his negligence.
In a few days, I must pick a suitable time to properly deliver the dress to Nan Yifeng's mother.
Xiao Mei walked over to Nan Weiwei, gently touched her shoulder, and said, "Weiwei, stop daydreaming. You must be exhausted today. Get some rest."
Nan Weiwei snapped out of her reverie, smiled, nodded, and said, "Okay, you should go to sleep early too."
After tidying up briefly, the two went back to their respective rooms to sleep.
The next day, Nan Weiwei arrived at the company early as usual.
She was still thinking about Xiaomei's situation from yesterday and planned to ask Lu Feng what project he had made Xiaomei do that kept her up until the evening.
As soon as Nan Weiwei entered the office, she saw Lu Feng and several colleagues discussing something together, his expression serious.
She wanted to go up and ask immediately, but as soon as she took a step, she was stopped by a colleague who was walking towards her, who said that there was an urgent document that she needed to deal with right away.
Nan Weiwei had no choice but to put aside her search for Lu Feng and focus on her work.
When she finished processing the documents and looked up again, she found that Lu Feng was no longer in his original position.
A little while later, Nan Weiwei ran into Lu Feng in the tea room.
Before she could speak, Lu Feng said first, "Weiwei, I was just looking for you. I have a new task for you, it's rather urgent, take a look in a bit."
Nan Weiwei swallowed back the words she was about to say and could only agree to the task for now.
Nan Weiwei was extremely busy all morning, attending meetings, replying to client emails, and coordinating work between departments.
She kept thinking about finding Lu Feng, but every time she had a little free time, she would be interrupted by something new.
She finally made it to the afternoon, intending to find Lu Feng and get to the bottom of things no matter what, but somehow she got bogged down in other trivial matters, and by the time she realized it, it was already time to leave work.
"Ugh, what a bad day, I actually forgot something so important."
Nan Weiwei packed her things while muttering to herself in frustration.
She decided that she would definitely ask Xiaomei about it when she got home that night, but then she thought that Xiaomei was so tired yesterday, so she should ask her tomorrow.
When she returned to the villa she rented with Xiaomei, it was already getting dark.
As soon as she reached the door, she saw a figure leaning against it. Upon closer inspection, she realized it was Nan Yifeng.
Nan frowned slightly and said irritably, "Why are you here again? Didn't I tell you not to come here?"
When Nan Yifeng saw Nan Weiwei return, he immediately stood up straight, a smile appearing on his face, and said, "Weiwei, I came to see you and brought you some food." As he spoke, he waved the bag in his hand.
Nan glanced at the bag and said coldly, "I'm not hungry, you can take it back. Besides, I've told you many times that we have nothing to talk about, so don't bother me anymore."
Nan Yifeng's smile was a little stiff, but he still refused to give up and said, "Weiwei, I know you're still angry with me, but I really care about you. By the way, you probably didn't send clothes to my mother yesterday, did you?"
When Nan Weiwei heard Nan Yifeng mention the dress, her heart softened slightly, but she quickly regained her coldness and said, "That was my oversight. I was just worried about Xiaomei. I'll find time to send it over. But it has nothing to do with you being here. You should leave."
Seeing Nan Weiwei's resolute attitude, Nan Yifeng said somewhat anxiously, "Weiwei, can't you give me a chance? I really like you and want to be with you."
Nan Wei sneered and said, "Nan Yifeng, stop deceiving yourself. There's no possibility between us. Don't come here again."
After saying that, she ignored Nan Yifeng, took out her key, opened the door, went inside, and then slammed the door shut.
Nan Yifeng stood outside the door, looking at the closed door, his eyes filled with disappointment and helplessness.
He sighed, slowly turned and left. Inside the house, Nan Weiwei leaned against the door, listening to Nan Yifeng's departing footsteps, feeling somewhat irritated.
She didn't understand why Nan Yifeng was always so persistent, even though she had already made herself very clear.
After a while, Nan Weiwei walked into the living room, sat on the sofa, and thought about what had happened that day.
I failed to get any information from Lu Feng about Xiao Mei, and then I ran into Nan Yifeng that night. What a chaotic day!
She rubbed her temples, deciding to put these worries aside for now and ask again tomorrow.
Just then, she suddenly heard Xiaomei's voice from upstairs: "Weiwei, is that you back?"
Nan Weiwei responded, "Yes, what time did you leave today? Why didn't you wait for me?"
Xiao Mei...
